Jacob Irish

Jacob Irish is an interdisciplinary artist and arts worker based in Kitchener, Ontario, whose practice spans sculpture, video, drawing, installation, sound, and electronic music. A graduate of NSCAD University (BFA) and the University of Waterloo (MFA), Irish’s work is informed by his ongoing collaboration with his partner, artist Julie Hall (she/they). Their collaborative MFA thesis exhibition, Borrowers and Bullies (2022), and Irish’s upcoming CAFKA.25 Biennial installation, Aloft (2025), reflect critically on the violent stories embedded in the industrial materials that give shape to house and home. Jacob produces music under the name Hoofcarver and has served as the audio editor for Momus: The Podcast since 2018.
